Leiden Rembrandt Days

During Leiden Rembrandt Days, the historic Pieters and Academy district is transformed into 17th-century Leiden. Actors, extras, theatre, music and historic locations bring the world of the young Rembrandt to life. The date of the next edition has not yet been officially announced.

Step into Rembrandt's Leiden

Leiden Rembrandt Days are staged as a large historical theatre in the neighbourhood where Rembrandt grew up. The streets around Pieterskerk and Rapenburg become the setting for scenes, living history, music and historical characters.

Hundreds of Leiden volunteers help create costumes, sets and props and take part as actors and extras. For a short time, the old city centre once again evokes the atmosphere of the 17th century.
